Ux/Ui Case Study

A new food app experience to enjoy authentic Italian pizza anywhere.

Role: Ux / Ui Designer

Scope: Ui Design, Wireframing, Prototyping, Ux Researcher, Ux Writing, User Flow

Date: 2022

Problem Statement

During the Covid-19 pandemic, people were eager to go out and dine, yet at the same time they experimented with fast food at home. Pizza quickly became the most popular choice. However, many gave up making it themselves after failing to achieve restaurant-quality results, and instead began ordering delivery. Yet, they were often dissatisfied due to delays caused by high demand and pizzas arriving cold.

Problem Solutions

This app offers users a simple way to order their favorite pizza without switching between different websites. They can even set their preferred delivery time, starting from as little as 20 minutes. To reduce delivery congestion, frequently ordered pizzas are kept ready in advance, ensuring fast delivery and fresh taste.

Goal

The goal was to design an easy-to-use app that motivates pizza lovers to engage with it regularly

My Responsibility

The process included user interviews, paper and digital wireframing, low- and high-fidelity prototyping, usability studies, accessibility considerations, and iterative design improvements.

My Role

UX Research - UX/UI Designer

Design Strategy

Design strategy is the term used to describe the nexus between corporate strategy and design thinking. Corporate strategy is the traditional method that businesses and other similar entities used to identify, plan, and achieve their long term objectives and goals.

Qualitative Analysis

Qualitative Research: Used to empathize with users, understand behaviors, and identify pain points. Conducted iteratively throughout the process.

Q1. How would you describe a typical day?

Q2. How often do you eat pizza?

Q3. What is your favorite pizza and why?

Q4. At what times do you usually consume pizza?

Q5. How do you usually purchase pizza?

Q6. How often do you use online pizza apps?

Q7. What size pizza do you usually prefer?

Quantitative Research

Conducted with 42 participants via Google Forms to identify consumption patterns and user behaviors.

Survey Insight

User Persona

A persona was created to represent the target user group.

Empathy Mapping

By empathizing with potential users, we were able to design an app tailored to their needs.

User Journey Mapping

A journey map was developed to better understand user pain points, thoughts, and actions during the pizza ordering process.

Card Sorting

Card Sorting was used to organize content and create a clear information hierarchy.

Information Architecture

Information Architecture ensured that users could easily find what they need.

Low Fidelity Wireframes

Low-fidelity prototypes (paper sketches, static mockups) were used for early testing, while high-fidelity prototypes were developed to closely simulate the final product’s look and feel.

High Fidelity Wireframes

High-quality prototypes are detailed, interactive versions of designs closely match the look and feel of the final product.
